Every cat is a little different. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Don't let anyone tell you that they are boring animals with no purrsonalities, because that is so untrue. Every cat likes different things. Some cats like when we talk to them - it probably makes them feel included - while some cats don't care about it. Some cats like going on walks, even though no matter how many times you'll see it outside, you'll probably think it's a bit funny. Some cats like weird foods and sleep in silly, uncomfortable places.  

You have to put in the effort to learn what makes your cat happy, what makes your cat calm. Because when they are happy and calm, then we are too. And if you find out that your cat likes being read to before bed like a baby, well, it seems that your nighttime routine will change a little bit for the foreseeable future.

    We don't know what it is exactly that makes cat enjoy things like their humans reading or talking to them, but we think it's something about the cadence of our voice. The calm and consistent drawl of it. And maybe the attention too - not directed right at them but still there, wholesome and loving.

Bill never really warmed up, but he did save me from a ... copperhead snake once. Sadly, he disappeared a couple of years ago. Ted the one in the back, fell in love with my 80lb boxer, Stella, and taught himself how to use the dog door and moved on in. He thanks me by bringing small, still alive critters into the house.     Donnah @58rughooker ... Sweet kitty! And here is our feral cat colony. Six have been trapped, neutered, and brought home to us and we've fed and housed them in little cat condos. So far I can pet six of them and pick up three. Hoping to get them to a shelter when they're tamer.

He bit me and gave me bartonella. I'm still on antibiotics, but he's adjusting to home life nicely. He still has some wild manners left over.
